It was finally a nice spring day. We decided to go for a drive down to Cooper's Marsh and a walk on the boardwalk by the St Lawrence River.
The main snow goose migration had passed but we found two small flocks near Crysler, Ontario.
(The flagged numbers on the map are the number of photos I took at each stop)

The ice was completely gone off the St Lawrence River at Lancaster. A long way out in the river was a flock of either goldeneye or greater scaup ducks.

Much closer, but still distant, was a small group of bufflehead ducks. We've seen bufflehead ducks several places this year.

A very few cormorants were around as well

Over at Cooper's Marsh, a pair of osprey have claimed the nesting platform, although they didn't appreciate a photographer (not me) who approached too close, too quickly.

Two Canada geese made a noisy low fly-past

A patch of red soldier lichen and a single willow tree with some pussy willows made for some variety as we walked the boardwalk/trail.
