Most of these photos appeared in the various PhotoStories of the month
A nice variety of birds with some surprises - first time hand feeders,  (very) new hatchlings, juveniles
Lots of goslings at Mud Lake
Including some hours, or minutes, old. Two had hatched when we were there, another two later and mum at the end of the day was waiting for a fifth to hatch
Also at Mud Lake,  mum mallard had some just-a-few days old ducklings out
At Bruce Pit a family with slightly older ducklings were resting next to a stream
A wood duck with a clutch of 8 at Mud Lake, and 12 at Bruce Pit...
I was expecting a pair of mallard males at Bruce Pit to get into a fight, but instead they paddled around quickly with low volume quacking.
A pair of Baltimore Orioles at Bruce Pit were not making it easy for to get decent photos of them
A lone egret at Colonnade Ponds was moving around trying to find breakfast
A single, almost fledged juvenile red-winged blackbird was being fed by it's mother amongst the reeds at Bruce Pit
While at Mud Lake, two adult and one juvenile, red-winged blackbirds were coming to hand to feed
Great blue heron at Mud Lake
A pair of Mud Lake male northern flickers were interacting oddly
Two variations of cardinals singing at Mud Lake
An early in the season fully fledged juvenile black-crowned night heron at Mud Lake and an adult at Bruce Pit
